Texas Student Loan Defaults 2nd Highest Nationwide

According to an article in the Dallas Morning News, Texans are defaulting on their student loans at an alarming rate.

Debtor Who Suffered From Illness Denied Student Loan Discharge In Bankruptcy

… Texas a debtor who suffers from autoimmune hepatitis was denied a bankruptcy discharge of her student loans because the bankruptcy court determined that her illness was present when she applied for the loans and attended college.

Are Low-Income Student Loan Borrowers At Higher Risk Of Default?

Supreme Court Hears Student Loan Dispute

U.S. Supreme Court To Consider Student Loan Discharge In Bankruptcy

… Forbes, the U.S. Supreme Court will listen to oral arguments for and against the discharge of student loans in bankruptcy.  The debate will center around the Chapter 13 bankruptcy case of Francisco Espinosa who was able to obtain a partial discharge of his student loans in bankruptcy.
